Al possesses a variety of accounting and tax skills including tax planning, tax preparation, accounting and attest services and general business consulting. He uses his expertise to help his clients achieve their goals. Al is a North Carolina licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Al has been serving individuals and small business since 2017 when he purchased a CPA practice on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Since then, Al’s clients rely on his broad financial knowledge to help them with acquiring and disposing of businesses, financing, insurance, retirement plans, investments, among other topics. Al possesses a keen understanding of the challenges facing businesses. He draws upon his deep financial and tax experience to achieve best case outcomes for his clients.

Al entered the public accounting field in 1989 when he graduated from the University of North Carolina and joined Arthur Andersen in Charlotte. He possesses a unique blend of public and private accounting experience. His experience includes 11 combined years with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, two of the former Big 5 accounting firms.

Al also has over 15 years of private experience serving as the senior financial leader at two North Carolina hospitals. Most notably, Al spent over 10 years as the Chief Financial Officer at Nash Health Care in Rocky Mount. In 2012, Al completed the Master of Business Administration (MBA) from North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

Al is a native of Smithfield, NC and is thrilled to be back to his roots and closer to family. In his spare time, Al enjoys birding, traveling and live music, especially Goose and Eggy.
